Security Specialist (Insider Threat)
About the Position: The incumbent works under the general direction of the HQDA Chief of Staff Army, Army Special Programs Directorate, Washington, D.C.
- Serves as the Army proponent for translating Public Law and DoD policy in Army regulations and developing Army policies and procedures for all aspects of Insider Threat operations.
- Coordinates staff products for ASPD concerning the Insider Threat program to include coordinating requirements and resources for the Insider Threat portfolio.
- Undertakes special studies, direct projects, and carries out assigned missions of the very highest priority.
- Verifies proof of need to know and degree of clearance required of industrial contractors assigned to ASPD or to industrial contractors visiting ASPD.

Specialized Experience GS-13: One year of specialized experience which applying insider threat policies and procedures to support Special Access Programs (SAP) or other sensitive government programs, assisting in the analysis of data from various sources to identify potential insider threat indicators or risks within a SAP environment, and coordinating with security, counterintelligence, or law enforcement personnel to support insider threat inquiries related to SAPs.This definition of specialized experience is typical work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12) Specialized Experience GS-14: One year of specialized experience which includes developing, implementing, or overseeing an Insider Threat program specifically tailored for Special Access Programs (SAPs), translating national-level insider threat policy into organizational-level regulations and operational procedures for SAP environments, and providing authoritative guidance and recommendations on SAP-related insider threat matters to senior leadership and program managers. This definition of specialized experience is typical work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13) Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12/13).
