About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the Auto Hobby Complex, RAF Mildenhall, United Kingdom. Performs and/or assists other specialists/patrons in the operation and maintenance of Auto Hobby Complex facilities. Performs and/or assists other specialists/patrons in the operation and maintenance of Auto Hobby Complex facilities. Types of duties include but are not limited to the following: Assists patrons on proper tools to use for specific projects, such as tire change, oil to use, etc.; notifies patrons of schedule changes; arranges for equipment or tools, charging them out to participants, and checking them for condition on their return; checks the established safety system of Auto Hobby Complex and areas, tools, and equipment; posts announcements of scheduled activities and answers inquiries about item, takes inventory of authorized recreation supplies and equipment; and responsible for security, safeguarding and administration of funds and resalable, fees and charges and timely submission of daily activities cash reports, perform routine housekeeping duties as required. Receives, store and issue expendable supplies. Performs other related duties as assigned. Permanent and legal residents of the US must be citizens of a NATO country, unless authorized to reside in the UK as a dependent of an employee who serves in support of the US Visiting Forces. Eligible applicants must possess a US-issued social security number and be able to provide documentation proving residency status in the UK. Applicants cannot be 'ordinarily resident'. A person is considered to be 'ordinarily resident' if they have resided in the United Kingdom (UK) for more than 366 days without an affiliation to the US Visiting Forces. Time spent in the UK as an employee, or dependent of an employee, of a US agency serving and supporting the US Visiting Forces (i.e., active duty military, federal civilian, AAFES, Red Cross, one of the contract universities, a military banking facility or federal credit union, or US government contractors) is not counted toward being 'ordinary resident'. In accordance with the Status of Forces Agreement between the US and the UK, British citizens may not apply for US NAF positions; however, they may be eligible to apply for local national positions on base. Ability to safeguard and handle cash and skill in the use and maintenance of various recreational equipment and facilities are desirable. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of suitability and fitness for the position.
