Intelligence Research Specialist
This position is located in the Office of Rewards for Justice (RFJ), Directorate of Threat Investigations and Analysis (TIA), Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS). RFJ is an interagency national security program, managed by DS directly on behalf of the Secretary of State.
- Provides consultation and operational services for research, analysis, guidance, assistance, and support for complex intelligence collection operations.
- Builds and maintains strategic relationships with internal and external partners to learn about changing needs and requirements, implementing strategies and plans to address evolving collection priorities.
- Utilizes datasets, specialized tools, advanced research, and analytical techniques to identify and analyze information that may be of value to the U.S., DOS, and Interagency operational activities.
Requirements
Applicants must meet all the required qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement. NOTE: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements, by the closing date of this announcement. Time-In-Grade Requirements: Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5CFR 300, Subpart F. Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience providing technical research and analytical support for the planning of intelligence operations. Experience preparing intelligence reports and delivering briefings on intelligence/counterintelligence issues. Experience maintaining relationships with members of the intelligence community in order to exchange foreign intelligence information. There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-13 position.
